Deep down in the dungeons was an elaborate pattern of hallways. It was easy for the younger students to get lost here, but Veck Valentine knew his way around the school pretty well. And it didn't hurt that the halls were well known Serpent Territory. This morning Veck was feeling particularly tired and he trudged along the halls rather slowly. He had a sleek black carrier bag slung over his shoulder that carried all his books for the day. His wand was in the back pocket of his black denim jeans and his slightly over sized dress shirt hung loosely over his body with the first 6 or 7 buttons undone. His hair was stylishly messy like usual and he was extremely bored. He contemplated even going to breakfast this morning.

Crap! Tara thought to herself. She was lost. Hopelessly lost. She recognized the corridors she walked through as being part of the dungeons, for they looked similar to the ones where the potions classroom was held. She walked quickly up and down a labyrinth of corridors, searching for a staircase that would lead her to the ground floor, or to run into someone who was kind enough to show her the way out.

Veck had turned a corner when he saw a young student walking around. 'Crap.',he thought. 'It's probably a first year'. Veck weighed his options. He could either see what the kid was doing walking around here or he could just walk the other way. He decided to simply walk the other way. He wasnt in the mood to deal with any little kids today. He shoulderd his bag and with a determined look on his face he strode right past her. He sure hoped she wasnt lost becouse then the Head Boy might bash him for being rude or something to a student who needed help.

"Excuse me," she said to the boy who had walked past her. She could see by his uniform that he was a Serpent. Tara hoped that he would turn around and help her, but she was unsure whether or not he would.
